Biography

Massimo Bocchi received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy, in 2002 and 2006 respectively.
In 2002 he joined the Advanced Research Center for Electronic Systems "E. De Castro" (ARCES), Bologna, Italy.
Between 2003 and 2006 he has been a consultant for ST Microelectronics, working in the fields of reconfigurable computing and single-chip multiprocessors. From june 2006 he's with MindSeeds Laboratories, a biotech start-up, in the role of Chief Technology Officer.

Research Interests and Activities

System-on-Chip platforms and on-chip bus architectures
The XiRisc project: design of a System-on-Chip based on the AMBA bus architecture and featuring a customizable VLIW microprocessor model
Embedded multiprocessor architectures
The COCHISE project: biosensors for the detection of single cell-to-cell interactions
