A subcircuit ordering algorithm based on signal flow graph ordering techniques and considerations of electrical nature has been implemented in the MuSIC multilevel circuit simulator for MOS IC's. This algorithm completely frees the user of the circuit simulator program from the task of assigning a scheduling order for the subcircuits. Simulations performed on a variety of MOS digital circuits showed considerable improvements in convergence of Newton's method as well as reduction of analysis time of the overall circuit.
